2017 Ram 1500 Rack and Pinion

My Ram started having issues steering from a dead start. I figured it was the electronic steering going out. WRONG.
Have to replace the rack and pinion at 90,000. Repair cost $2594.
While there they told me had an exhaust leak. To replace the exhaust manifold, $883.
Thank God when I bought the truck Geico added extended warranty coverage to my policy. Will only cost me $250 and they cover the rest.

Posts like this make me seriously consider an extended warranty. Things wear out I guess. 90k seems a little soon for a steering rack to wear out. And I sympathize with you on the exhaust manifold. Not sure why those are cracking. Sounds like your extended warranty is covering most of it. Smile...be happy you're not paying for the entire cost out-of-pocket.
