I'm putting this out there to get RAM people opinions. Please do not hold back. Looking for anything and everything. Here is my question?????

I currently have a 2019 Ram Laramie. Awesome truck, love the ride and all the gizmo's. I might have an opportunity to pick up an 2017 RAM 2500 SLT Mega Cab. Besides losing the gizmo's. What can anyone tell be about the frame, body etc compared to the 5th Generation 2500's 1500s etc. I'm looking to plow in the winter. Not interested in the towing aspect.

Thank you!

My 4.5 Gen '19 is quieter, and has better headlights than my 4th Gen '15.

Had a 2015 1500 that I traded for a 2019 1500, drove the 2019 2 years and now have a 2017 3500 CTD.

The 2019 1500 is quieter than the 17 3500 but not by as much as I would expect.

The wife and I both like the seats in the 2017 better, cannot pinpoint exactly why but we both feel they are more comfortable. I really thin the suede section in the 2019 kind of stuck to you and made them less comfortable.

The 2019 was a sport off road laramie with tow and 3.92 gears. Over the life of the truck it got a little over 15.5 avg mpg. The diesel I have only driven about 3,000 miles but it is averaging around 17 mpg. Both are actual the evic reads about 2 mpg higher.

The 1500 was like driving a luxury car, soft ride, super quiet, and handled pretty well. The 3500 rides great for a truck, still quiet, though not as quiet as the 1500, and you can feel the additional weight when driving. The 3500 feels like an "I can do whatever you want" truck.

We are planning on adding a TT or 5er which is the main reason I switched to the 3500. Have so far only towed light loads though I did haul a 2,200 pound pallet in the 3500, would have had to use the trailer with the 1500.

All depends on what you want and need. No regrets on switching so far, we both like it.

Actually, if you plan to Plow Snow your beating up the truck by PUSHING dead weight instead of PULLING wheeled weight. I would still want the truck as HEAVY DUTY as I could get it for the load. Just Sayin'...
