I want to remove some of the emblems on my 2017. Do they have alignment pins (leaving holes under the emblems) or are they just held on with double-sided tape? If some emblems have pins, which ones do?

The Hemi badges on the front fenders, along with the "Ram 1500" badges on the front doors are tape only on my 2015. Not sure on the others. If you have the giant tailgate letters, I think those may be fastened. Other members will chime in here.......

I believe most manufacturers went to stick on emblems years ago. I had a 1994 vehicle that had stick on emblems. They are cheaper to install and cheaper to make/buy plus the infitismal weight savings adds up across all the emblems and other places, resulting in MPG rating increases. I'm rather certain that even the RAM emblems on the tailgates are stick on as well.

Many use mono film fishing line to "saw" behind the emblems and get them off without damaging the finish.

All are taped on with the possible exception of the tailgate. I haven't touched that one yet.

I was told that the Ram head on the tailgate has pins. I like it though, so I didn't worry since I was leaving it on. I also left the Hemi badge. I used the fishing line and goo gone method from the link above and it worked great.

As mentioned most of them are just tape. The Rams Head emblems on the front grill and tailgate have pins. Mine is a 2017 and I took everything off except the Hemi badges and the Rams Head badges.

I use heavy fishing line and gloves, saw off letters and 3M adhesive remover, debadged quickly.

Same here, 8 lb test worked great, and a little Goof Off and soapy water to clean the residue. It helped a lot to heat the big Ram badge on the tailgate to get through the large amount of tape easier, but then I was disappointed to find three holes left in the tailgate. I ended up getting the black badge as a replacement to keep the no chrome theme I'm trying for.

Interesting... I've been considering adding the RAM letters to the gate, but only the R and the M and leaving the RAM head in the center and painting it all to match, but I've found the Limited letters seem to NOT have pins, but the ones listed for the REBEL tailgate letters are listed separately and DO have pins.. ??

This may have been answered but on the grille and tailgate RAM emblems, they are pins and adhesive, the one on the tailgate has guide pins and a large adhesive patch. On the grille, it's locking pins that need to be accessed from behind.

For the fender/door emblems, the replacements are adhesive and I'm sure the originals are as well, otherwise they'd have pins on the replacements.

I've heard a good way to get them off is with waxed dental floss. I'll try it with mine, as I'm planning to remove the door emblems (not a fan of chrome)

I recently removed the Hemi badge and I’m extremely pleased with the look.
