I drive 85 miles to work and back m-f .182,000 highway miles. The truck started overheating i started simple I changed the thermostat and radiator cap. It drove fine for a week then started overheating again. The radiator fan was changed. So I took it to a shop the guy I know is an awesome tech. We did a coolant flush and the plugs were due to be changed. That done I drove to work 85 miles up and back with no issues. This morning I got into the truck after sitting all night 50 degrees out. I drove 2 miles turned the heat on my temp shot up to 248 and guage needle moved to hot. I was driving 45 mph in a ice cold truck. Any ideas? Thank you Semper Fidelis
