Hello I have a Canadian 2017 Ram Sport with a Canadian 2018 Panasonic 4C-Nav Uconnect, no satellites are detected and time is not accurate?!? Is this expected because my 2017 has no dedicated GPS pigtail? I do get SirusXM signal although the signal cuts out regularly and when hitting a pot hole.
I tried unplugging the Uconnect for 10 minutes, resetting factory settings still 0 satellite.
I cannot find how to do a software reset for this unit.
I read that the US version of this Uconnect has an Aircard in it and if it fails it will result in 0 satellites detected. Do the Canadian version also have this Aircard?
My Uconnect is delaminating so I’m not sure it’s worth changing the LCD/digitizer if the radio has other issues.

Thank you

That mustard colored plug on the radio is both SXM and GPS. If reception is poor and GPS isn't working, I'd bet replacing the Antenna would fix it (I fixed mine that way). Conversely, you could try updating the firmware on the radio to see if it's a software glitch.

The pigtail of wires on the back of the radio should be secured with zip ties. Lose connections sounds like a loose wire someplace.

@SitKneelBend is there a cheap DYI antenna I can connect on the back of the unit to prove the antenna is bad ? Where can I find the latest software for Canadian UCQ W/NAV 68331632AH. It’s at 18.42/22.6 currently.

Your Uconnect system’s lack of satellite detection and SiriusXM signal issues may stem from a faulty or disconnected GPS antenna. Canadian models don’t use the Aircard found in U.S. versions, so that’s unlikely the cause. Try securing the antenna connections, performing a soft reset, and checking for software updates. Given the screen’s delamination, replacing the entire unit might be more practical, especially if issues persist. Consulting a Ram technician could provide a definitive solution.

FYI the Canadian version UCQ 68331632AH also has the Sierra Wireless AirPrime AR7552 card like the US version. Looking into replacing it to see if it will fix my 0 satellites issue. IMG_3988.jpeg
