Does anyone have any complaints about braking on the 2018 Ram 2500? Pedal on my 4x4 Mega Cab is not too responsive. Have to get down on them hard to stop even at slow speeds and it still feels almost like the feeling when rotors are glazed. 1800 miles on the truck. I went from a 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel to this 2500. Maybe its just me. Any thoughts ? Thanks, Brent

I would take it in if o were you. I have a 17 2500 and have no issues like that.

I agree with fastgti. My 2017 has very strong brakes for the size/weight. I don't have to get too hard on the pedal for a strong response and in the few unfortunate times I needed to do emergency stops it did completely fine.

Mine feel fine but maybe your not used to the hydraulic power brake system. These HD’s don’t have a vacuum assist like the 1500’s do.
It takes some getting used to at first then you’ll never notice the difference until you get into one with vacuum brakes.

These are heavy beasts and require quite a bit more stopping distance over the half tons. You're probably just not used to it

I will 2nd and 3rd what others have said. The hydraulic assist on the HD models is way different and you really have to put more input into the pedal than a traditional vacuum assist brake booster system.

Having owned a previous 6.4 gas HD and now my Cummins 6.7L HD, the exhaust brake on the diesel does help a bunch more with braking power.

The gas HD models could have a vacuum brake assist but RAM made a design/money decision to be all hydraulic assist across all models regardless.

While I agree that the HD system is different, there could still be air in the system.

Or, your pads need to be bedded and your rotors seasoned. There's a good How To on those processes on the Baer Brake website.
