I'm trying to decide between a 2019 2500 or a 2019 Rebel. They're both about the same price and I'm not sure if I'll need the 2500 since it looks like we'll be selling our travel trailer.

What do you all think?

You can never have to much truck.

Since you are looking at a rebel in a 1500 platform I assume you are looking at the power wagon in a 2500 platform. My vote is POWER WAGON! all day. And even if it is t a power wagon, then still a 3/4 ton.

two different lifestyle choices...
they are two totally different trucks, no matter what the outside/inside and power dimensions tell you.

IFS/SOLID AXLE is a major design difference. If it is the powerwagon your looking at, this is in its own league.

have you test driven both enough, back to back, to feel the difference in ride quality?

If you are not towing I don't see the need for the 2500 unless you just like/want a HD truck (which is okay). So my vote would be the Rebel for mpg and overall ride quality over the HD truck.
Power Wagon is an awesome off road truck but just be aware of the ~12mpg and short range. I loved mine but got sick of stopping at the gas station every couple days.

Wait... are we talking the rebel now, or the “ TRX rebel “ that is to be released soon??? Because if it’s the TRX rebel than I change my earlier vote of the power wagon to the TRX rebel.

Edit- just saw you said 2019 rebel, save for a year and go TRX rebel...

A little more info...I'm moving to Alaska in a few months. Does that make a difference?

This may be of interest to you. Rebel vs power wagon review. These guys are pretty spot on with their reviews.

Interesting that the Rebel has a greater towing capacity and payload then the 2500 power wagon. It looks like the rebel comes out on top in everything but articulation. Unless you are a hard core off roader the rebel looks like the better choice unless you just want the bigger truck?

If you are going to Alaska then I'd say Power Wagon or 3/4 ton. Not sure what you're going too be doing in AK for work or play but I don't see any real benefit over the Rebel compared to a 3/4 ton truck especially in AK.

Just my opinion. But if your not towing fairly heavy often, or you don't necessarily need (or desire) the added off-road goodies of the power wagon, then I would no doubt go with the rebel.

Comparing a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 ton is almost as bad as Gas to diesel lol. And further more comparing a Rebel to a power wagon... completely different Leagues..

I have always told my self when I go 3/4 ton again, I’m going Diesel with a Carli/Thuren mid-Long travel kit...

But now the 6.4 is matted to a 8speed... maybe a power wagon with a Thuren/Carli kit.
