With winter upon us I figured I would post a little info for those searching. If you have factory remote start then your vehicle will go into cabin warming mode 30 seconds after start if temperature is below 40*. This is what confuses many due to poor design. The truck temp sensor For the infotainment system has to read below 40*. Problem I have is like today when it’s 18* out and sunny. The sun beats down on the dash warming the sensor to greater than 40*. I have to go out and push the buttons on the steering wheel to put it in high idle and manually turn on heat and defrosters. If you wander why sometimes your truck goes into cabin warming and sometimes it doesn’t when below freezing outside this is why.
