I needed new brakes on my '16 Ram 1500 Express, but I just couldn't be bothered so I traded it in for a 2019 Ram 1500 Express Classic
Anyways...
I had ordered a set of the Morimoto Vertical XB LED fog lights, thinking that my Classic is still a 4th gen truck.
I removed my OEM fog light housings and started working on disassembly of the mounting bracket.
Very quickly, I realized that my mounting bracket was different from the ones I've seen in previous install videos. Instead of the two mounting tabs on either side that need to be popped off with a screw driver holding the bracket to the fog light, I had a plastic disk with a T10? torx screw securing it in the middle.
When transferring the OEM mounting brackets to the Morimoto fog light, the mounting holes were either just large or enough, or needed to be drilled out a little to accommodate the Morimoto fog light mounts.
When I attached my 2019 Classic OEM mounting bracket to the Morimoto fog light, the holes were WAY too large for the mounts.
I ended up installing the manual adjuster screw/spring combo. sort of re-installed the plastic caps (there was too much play between the holes and mounts that they wouldn't snap in and stay, and ghetto fabbed some 3m tape I had laying around to secure the mount to the fog light. They ended up being fairly solid together and I got them re-installed in the truck.
They do sit a bit recessed back in the fog light bumper cut out, not sure if that's the case on all models ore another 2019 oddity. I'll try to get some pictures in the morning of them installed.
TL;DR my 2019 classic OEM fog light mounting bracket was different than those illustrated/utilized in vertical fog light installs for earlier MY 1500s w/ vertical fog lights.
Edit: First 3 photos are screen captures from a youtube install video. Last 2 are of my 2019 fog lights/mounting brackets.
