Purchased from Infotainment - was lucky to get a brand new radio (manufactured July, 2020)
Received :
After the install was complete, everything worked except the Climate Control, and later I discovered the Auto Headlights.
The climate screen has 1 button, "ON" - no other control selection.
The physical buttons on the bezel do nothing - HOWVER, the fan speed control SEEMS to sometimes work. And by sometimes, I mean I turn the speed higher, and sometimes the fan increases, sometimes not.
Here's the part I have not seen in anyone else reporting...
While running (or in ON), the fan will randomly turn on and off, 30s on, 30s off, sometimes longer. Blowing heat almost always. That's a super great feature for summer driving. Pressing A/C does nothing, no light.
I've read some posts in the forum that describe how the auto headlights functionality is related to the HVAC, so I believe its related.
I called Infotainment, they made me aware that I needed to let trucks computer "Learn" the new HVAC module. I've read similar posts - Ok - lets let it learn. Also advised me to double check connections, they are all in there good.
It's been 4 days, I still have the same issues.
I've tried removing the battery cables, touching them together - no dice.
My OBD reader reports a code U0164, Lost Communication With HVAC Control Module.
Advise welcome. Do I wait longer? Should I suspect the cable? I'm willing to trace the cable, with a meter to ensure its made correctly - not sure of the correct pinout. Found a link for a 2014-2018 cable pinout, same?
Thanks in advance,
