I have a 2019 1500 limited, 5.7 engine, with 53k miles on it. I previously had a right side rear exhaust leak which was a broken bolt on the exhaust system. Six months later I hear a loud ticking sound, I changed to a heavier weight oil, but the tick was still there. I decided to investigate further and found that the right passenger side exhaust manifold was cracked as well as two of the bolts holding it in place.
I needed my truck repaired fast as I was going out of town for the week, so I had the dealership do the work. The repair was close to a thousand dollars, but I'm happy to say that the truck is quiet again and they used better quality parts than the original ones it came with.
The moral of the story: all ticking isn't the dreaded Hemi tick that you hear so much about. I just wish this was a TSB, as this is a common defect for these trucks.
