Hello, I am currently looking at a 2019 and 2022 2500 in my local area. They both are Tradesman's with the 6.4 Hemi and 8 speed. Both are low mileage and priced fairly. My question is which one would be the better purchase? The 2019 would naturally cost less and I concerned about more sensors and more issues to deal with on the 2022. What are your thoughts?

If both are fairly priced, unless the 22 has any factory warranty left, I'd get the 19. This is under the assumption both have not been in an accident. Neither has been in a salt state and both trucks are represented fairly.

Two things to consider: Do you like nanny features and will you be towing a trailer? The 2022 is great but has some annoying nanny features such as beeping loudly whenever you step out with the engine running. Also the 2022 does not have a key, but instead has an oversized fob that sets off the horn when accidentally bumped. If you will be towing a trailer, be advised that the transmission locks with the door open, making the half-inch adjustments when connecting the trailer more challenging. I haven't driven a 2019, but am happy with the 2022 except for the frustrating nanny features.

This is exactly why I asked the question. I was afraid that the newer ones have a bunch of additional crap that would not be to my liking. I will be towing a 32 travel trailer, which I have to hookup myself, so I constantly in and out of the truck during the process. Thank you so much for sharing!

If you’re in and out of the truck trying to hook up the trailer, keep the door open. The vehicle will only lock the transmission once. After that you’re good to go.

Have you been following the forums/youtube? The sliding rear windows have a terrible leaking problem around the frame. Rams new TSB for repair is put sealant on it. The non sliding rear windows don't seem to have that problem.
