2021 2500 diesel

Just upgraded from ram 1500 to a 2021 2500 diesel Longhorn.
wow am I impressed! Towed my 9 k lb TT and it was sweeet. Only have 500 miles and very happy. I don’t think I’ll get a gas engine again!

Congrats! if you tow heavy and often then diesel is for sure the way to go.

Not the full 500 miles breakin but towed only 50 miles. I know I know but circumstances required it. A fix?

It's a code for low or bad DEF fluid. Did it happen right after your fill? Did you add DEF fluid as well?

Hopefully it's just a bogus fault or a bad sensor and not something serious like Diesel in the DEF tank (it's happened)

I might try and clear it and see what happens. Like I said, I've seen this code before and after clearing it never came back.

Just be aware that if you end up having to go to the dealer they will look closely at the DEF fluid. If they find contamination in it they will likely blame you for it and not cover it.

Update on the P218F code.
I cleared it a few times but back on again each time. I now have 700 miles on it and decided to fill up my second time. Started my engine and code dis appeared.
The question, should I still take it to the dealer on Tuesday?

If the code is gone I'd just go about your day. Like I said, I have seen it before and had it go away after a fresh fill of DEF or just resetting the code. If it comes back again you might want to take it in and have it looked at. Like I said before though, if they find the DEF contaminated they are going to hit you will a $$$ bill.

If you haven't added any DEF since purchase It should be fine to have them look at it. I wouldn't pay for any service for it though.
