2022 RAM 1500. Bought a new (unused) 6-button key fob for my Longhorn Limited that matches the one key fob I received with the vehicle. I have AlphaOBD,
the OBDLinkMX+ adapter and the FCA 12+8 SGW bypass cable from Amazon. Does anyone have detailed instructions as to how to add the new keyfob?
Do I have the proper bypass cable? Whats the deal with the 4 .vs. 5 digit PIN? Do I need to get a PIN code from the dealer?

I have used AlphaOBD before to add a backup camera to my 2010 1500. Its difficult to find exact programming instructions on the forum.

Thanks in advance!

For the bypass cable:

As to programming key fobs, AlfaOBD can't do it on 5th gens. You'll need JScan. It's free to download, but will cost 25$ per vin#

Youll need to connect to the RF Hub and pull the Pin, then use the pin to program the fobs.

I recently picked up a very expensive new OEM key fob for my 2019 1500 DT. When I used JScan to attempt to program it, I received an error saying that the key fob was not clear. It was my second attempt to program the key with JScan.

Any way to reset the fob? I really don’t want a $300 mistake. And I really don’t want to pay the stealership $250 to program it.
