I am trouble shooting a trailer light issue. I have a left turn signal but not a right when connecting to the installed connector on the rear bumper. First on a boat trailer and then on two separate testers. All do the same. Don’t know what to do next. Any ideas?

A little confused. The non working turn signals are on the trailers or, when connected to a trailer, it kills the truck’s turn signal?

If it’s the trailer, left and right trailer turn signals are fused separately. You’ve got a blown fuse. Most likely.

If it’s killing the truck’s turn signal, it’s probably the OEM plug and it’ll need to be replaced. Not likely.

Sounds like he's talking about the turn signal output from the 7 pin connector on the truck. I highly doubt there's a separate fuse for left and right, so maybe an actual wire issue. The outlet has a plug on the back. Could be it's become unseated partially.

Incorrect. Left brake/turn signal one fuse. Right brake/turn signal another fuse. Running lights another fuse. On my 2019 Trailer turn/brake fuses are 20 amp (yellow) fuses. F09 and F10. F09 left/F10 right. Both micro fuses.

I wasn't stating fact, glad someone knew the answer. Never had issues with my trailer plug to have to research it.

Learned from experience. My 2015 ED WAS not real picky. On 2019 electronics real sensitive. Every time I had truck running lights on and plugged in blew running light fuse ref trailer which is blue 20 amp cartridge fuse. I know to have truck off and lights off before plug in. Must have a slight bad ground somewhere. I just workaround it lol which made me research and learn WTF going on.

let's start here: are you using the 4 pin or 7 pin? I didn't think boat trailers used the 7 pin unless they have electric brakes.

what type og boat?

what type of trailer?

did you use a test meter or light on the particular pin for that turn signal?

is the same issue with both the 7 pin and the 4 pin?

He said in the OP that he got the same result with testers. Maybe it's a bigger boat that requires trailer brakes? My brother in law has a small boat on a trailer on my property and it uses a 4 pin,but it's a John boat with like a 10hp motor.

They are most certainly fused separately.

I get it, I said i doubted they were. I certainly never checked or had any issues with mine. I also never really looked at my fuses to know what all is in there. With the ****** weather we keep getting I'll never get around to installing my new front bumper or projector headlights. I'm going to have to pull my camper out through a 4 ft snowbank at this rate also.
