I just got a 2022 2500 Tradesman Off Road Package with the 6.4 Hemi. I've never seen an air intake like this one before. Don't know if the 2021 are the same. Has anyone came up with a DYI mod for this thing? Or do they flow pretty well? The air has to come in above the radiator area, take a hard right down to the air box, up through the filter, then a hard left to the throttle body. Seems like a lot of twists and turns to me. I'm of the opinion that straighter is better.

Anyway, first mod will be change the Y Pipe and muffler, and remove the resonator.

AND FINALLY, COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Helps if you post pictures. I believe you are talking about the new ram air which is definitely better than the older intake location in the fender. Very similar to an aftermarket performance upgrade that was available for the 4th gen trucks.

Air comes in above the radiator, goes down to the bottom of the air box, back up through the filter, then to the throttle body.

Yup. That’s the new ram air. It may be a slightly longer path but it’s colder air along with the fact that it’s a “ram” style intake instead of plumbed to the fender. That’s a lot better than any short style I take.

I actually replaced the stock box with an S&B CAI and guess what...it actually ties in to the stock ram intake on top of the radiator so I'd say it must be in a great location for fresh air.

Thanks Gondul. I think I can live with that.

If you just want a bit more noise and/or not have to replace filters regularly check on the aFe dry filter. It's a drop-in and pretty low maintenance. No oil. I've used them on several vehicles so far and love 'em. Plus inexpensive vs. an aftermarket CAI.

CAI on these trucks are a big waste of money, you guy are right . Just a good aftermarket panel filter and you are fixed up. The exhaust is huge, unless you like noise leave it alone. I put headers on my 19 6.4 3500 and called it good.

Any of y’all know what air filter the 2022 6.4 takes? I’ve heard it’s the same as the Cummins but it looks smaller just looking at the housing. TIA
