Got back from Va, had a few rainy and windy days, but not too bad. Wife got to see a few horses, I got to go to the lighthouse. As always, it's great to get away.

Got back yesterday. Trailer was fixed and works great. Front is brand new. Too bad the sides still look older but the shop did their best to hide the fiberglass splice point. That little dent cost more than i paid for the trailer in 2019 to fix.
Before and after....
From the pics it looks good. They did a nice job.

We left Florida Thursday and just finishing up 3 nights in Gatlinburg, TN. Went through the state park today, pretty place but lots of traffic. Off to Lexington, VA in the morning for granddaughters college graduation. 05B16593-3E10-49E4-8B66-BF22627E4278.jpeg3E7772BB-CD59-4BF5-8063-06CE5E97E81E.jpeg668B2CEF-DCAB-4E69-9DDF-857840C47280.jpeg

Yes, that area should be on everyone's bucket list. I tell everyone that if you have any doubts about a higher power, visit the Smokey Mountains.
I couldn’t agree more, its a beautiful creation!

Love that area as well. It's been awhile since we visited it. We might need to plan another trip soon....

we camp in a trailer now up till 3yrs ago we tented! trailer camping (glamping) with hook ups is the way to go !
we have a few trips planed for this year and most of the places we like to go have been booked since January of 2022 and we also wanted to go down east this year so since we couldn't get some sites that we go to we decided to go down east loked in to CG down there and not a lot of CG were already full but got one for our trip!
I think it's going to be like this for a few more years yet!

I decided to get the truck weighed today at a local feed store that sells stone and mulch in bulk. They have a public scale. There are no Cat scales near me. My truck weighed in at 5760 lbs. That's with me in it and a full tank of gas. If you add in my Weigh Safe True Tow hitch at 75 lbs you get a grand total of 5835 lbs which leaves a 1065 lb payload (my sticker shows 1560 lb payload) . I'm 195 lbs over my stock curb weight without me in it or the hitch installed. My tongue weight is 900 lbs according to my hitch. I'm right there on the edge. I don't really put anything more in the truck when I camp. It all goes in the trailer.

I know I can go a little heavier as long as I watch my axle weight. Thankfully I don't have to. Next week I'll get the trailer weighed. That's just because I'm curious what it weights not because I'm near my limit (10k). My trailer has a 6k dry weight and based on how much stuff we had in our last trailer I estimate we have around 1200 lbs of stuff loaded in there. So my guess is 7200 lbs. We'll find out how close I am soon enough.

This is a lesson for newbies. Watch your weights because your payload disappears real quick when towing with a 1500.

Photo dump. Out camping in the state forest. Peace and quiet...except for some disgruntled fisherman.

Last pic is after the fire burnt down to coals. Just to show how dark it is. Taken in the same direction as the daylight fire.

It was a great weekend with no cell service, all the nature you could handle and minimal human interaction.20220528_102014.jpg20220528_105003.jpg20220528_112548.jpg20220528_141235.jpg20220528_145009.jpg20220529_115821_HDR.jpg20220529_191204_HDR.jpg20220529_223513.jpg20220529_224210.jpg

We made it to the Michigan Upper Peninsula yesterday and currently at Tahquamenon State Park. Pics are
of the Lower and Upper Falls. The UP is largely unsettled and full of raw nature, very beautiful!2FD125E9-560F-4DA1-B5D7-6D4325DC873B.jpeg7A3768CE-FAD2-49D0-969D-3640118D98DE.jpeg86C3842B-852D-45A4-94C3-4C56D3FB35E8.jpeg
