Trying to get some confirmation that for a 2023 5.7 Hemi in Ram 1500 the correct part numbers for oil filters:
Royal Purple is 10-48?
And for Mopar, I can't seem to determine the part number?

Mainly just wanted to confirm part numbers, but based on threads here and elsewhere it seems like the Royal Purple oil filter is well respected, if anybody wants to throw in 2 cents or make oil filter recommendations I'll read them. thanks

Check out these videos. They compare the new Fram Endurance filter with the RP and Amsoil. All three are the same filter. I just did an oil change the other day and used the Endurance. From everything I've seen it seems like a good filter.

I've been using the Royal Purple 20-820 available at Summit Racing, and Redline 5w30 full synthetic motor oil.
The RP web site is saying 10-48 for both my 23 and your 19.
This is what has me confused about the "correct" part number... Also fwiw Amazon says the 20-820 is not a fit for me, but the 10-48 is.

And Amazon is technically correct. However, some members here have discovered that the RP 20-820 and RP 10-500 filters are much larger versions of the 10-48, allowing for more room for particles and potentially, if not documented, greater unrestricted flow despite having finer filter media.

Just about a week ago I had my shop do an oil change using my PUP 5W-20 oil and RP 20-820, the filter fit just fine, and is working very nicely at cleaning up my oil.

The 20-820 has similar dimensions but is probably twice as "fat".
The 10-500 in just a little "fatter", maybe, but is noticeably longer.

What I found most disturbing about the stock Mopar and others of the same size - they are the same size as the Kohler screw-on filter for my Cub cadet, single cylinder 19hp riding mower.

IMHO, the 20-820 looks like it belongs on a 5.7L Hemi, and it does.

While summit has the 20-820, they want about $37.00 plus shipping, which I found to be problematic because Royal Purple Direct has the 20-820 for under $13.00.

I bought 2 filters from RPDirect for $10 less than I paid Summit for just 1.

The only known difference between the fram endurance FE2 and the rp 20-820 is 2 less inlet holes, which makes it an exact clone to amsoil ea filter. You really shouldnt use the 10-48 or any small filter on the hemi, it was an "unwise" downgrade at the time they did it, the other filters will fit. See oil filter thread for why. If you cant find the 20-820 I'd get the fe2 its cousin filter. They only sell fram endurance through walmart. If you buy enough from rp direct the rumor is free shipping.

The 2009 through 2011 spec the 20-820 size, try changing the year of the ram to 2010 for fitament chart, they went to a smaller filter but they will still fit. See oil filter thread.

I've found that the Royal Purple filter 20-820 base gasket measured from outside to outside is 2.845 and the block will accept this larger diameter, that the other filters like the 10-48 with a gasket Dia of 2.775, I don't think anything has changed on the 5.7L block it's a tight fit but there's room, I know the 6.4 block there is a fitment problem, I like the 20-820 because of larger Dia size.
