I have a 2024 2500 with a Cummins. Went to leave this morning and its dead. Nothing will work. No horn. Door locks. Nothing. Tried to jump it and the horn and locks work but it makes one big click and thats it. Doesn’t attempt to even turn over. Was starting fine yesterday.

Likely it is Batteries. You cant jump a battery that is completely dead. Measure voltage on each after disconnecting them. I would bet one or both are dead. Other option is the fuse on main power feed. Check F07 40 amp fuse.

Thank you. I know it acts like a battery or batteries. Just odd that it was cranking fine then nothing. And it only has 15,000 miles on it. Not even a year old.

@Dean2 told U batteries. And BTW replace both at same time regardless how they test

Unless somehow You have a cable loose. Check all cables and insure they are on properly and tight. Turn key/push button and no joy I definitely think batteries

I know my 2500 one time didnt power down the dash, after I shut it off. Accordingly it was drawing the batteries down the whole time just setting there in the barn. I only noticed it after a couple of hours my battery tender was still charging, which isnt normal. Had to remove the battery connections to reset the system for the fix.

If you have damaged your batteries, it is advisable to replace both at the same time.

So I experienced the same thing the dealership tried to tell me it was a loose cable where you jumpstart the vehicle. 2 o’clock in the morning, the tow company came out, used their little box jumpstarted it not an issue. He would’ve known if that cable was loose second, he said that the voltage the alternators were putting out were not sufficient. Dealership ran the diagnostic on the batteries and said everything was fine. Well obviously something wasn’t but never experienced again and that was on my 2022 Cummins that I own for about a year.

My 2024 2500 6.7 did the exact same thing. Fine one day next nothing. I jump started it and took it to the dealer. They tested the batteries and found right hand battery was fine. But somehow the drivers side was dead. They charged both batteries and tested them again. They both passed, it’s not happened again. I’m thinking some module stayed on instead of going to sleep and drew the battery down.
It’s still something that’s in the back of my mind, as to if will happen again. Like with our travel trailer in the mountains somewhere. :)

Did you put a meter on the batteries? you need 12.5v min. and 14.5v running.
I would think under a yr, should get new under warranty, thou they will not want to do it.
One click sounds like a loose connection or cheap little booster cables.
I use to have HD welding cable set with the best clamps money could buy.

I use one of the new fangled boost box now in the city. My original battery crapped out after 11 yrs, I am so pissed. But I am not cranking a diesel, and it sits in a garage all the time.

By this time , I presume you have it fixed?????????????????????????

The dual batteries in the Cummins trucks are wired in parallel to each other, there's no isolation between them. The Cummins takes a lot of juice to turn over especially when the grid heater is in use.
Unfortunately seems the factory batteries are not strangers to just up and puking, there have been a few reported where the people ran into the store for five minutes and the truck wouldn't start on the way out. I wouldn't say the factory battery are persistent problem but it's not surprising when they go out suddenly.
