I've been wanting to put an Eaton TrueTrac in the front of my new 2025 2500, and finally called East Coast Gear Supply to order the parts. They told me that it's not currently possible to swap the carriers in these trucks. They had a couple of customers try it, and something about the 2025's causes them to go into a limp mode and the truck won't turn off. It wasn't just one guy there, before hanging up he put me on hold and polled the rest of the sales room and they all confirmed that this isn't possible yet. He also mentioned something about the ring gear being welded to the carrier? So you can't just swap carriers, you do also have to do the gears? Crazy talk.
Does anyone know more about this? What about the 2025's is making this limp mode happen? Are there any companies out there working on resolving this? I was wanting to go to Baja next winter, and would be pulling a camper, and was kinda counting on having a traction device in my front axle.
****I've had several of these TrueTracs in various vehicles, including a 2003 Ram 2500, and I like them. So let's not turn this into a debate about TrueTracs please. Let's talk about 2025 stuff.***

I know the new trucks have a new electrical architecture from 2025+ and I dont think there is any tuning software out yet, at least AlfaOBD doesnt work yet from what I've heard. I dont know why a trutrac would make the truck go into limp mode though unless it is that sensitive on wheel speeds. I think you can get lockers in a new Rebel so that would be functionally a similar diff from the factory.
