The crazy thing is the Whipple on the 5.0 Mustang takes it over 800hp

Sounds like a good way to discover the melting point of aluminum (pistons). Buddy of mine put one on a LS series GM engine, ate #7 piston due to a lean condition. Fuel system wasnt up to the additional HP.

I wouldn't do this without supporting mods. Some guys are fine, but the stock 5.7 does not like boost. 6.2, completely different story.

Stock internals are good for 5-6 PSI of boost. I ran a whipple on my 2017 1500 for 3 years, no problems. It's all about the tuning to make it safe.

Sure, if you push it, like dude in reddit thread clearly did, you're going to have problems or catastrophic failure.

Direct Connection / Mopar wouldn't unveil or put their stamp of approval and warranty on something that would cause problems. Especially a dealer installed option.
