Welcome to owning a Hemi. How many miles did you get? It doesn't happen to everybody but it does happen.

Pull the valve cover on drivers' side and look for rocker arm movement on #3.

i have been thinking about all the #3 misfires

Is the #3 valves/cylinder, camshaft, etc
One of the cylinders that cuts out, when MDS kicks in & out ?

The other part of the question,
do the HEMI engines that don't have MDS, have the same issue with the #3 ?

Don't believe it is related to MDS at all, as the roller part of the lifter is what's failing and MDS doesn't effect that part.

That would leave me to believe that the MDS Camshaft is to darn SOFT, unless the non MDS engine are equally affected

The manual transmission 5.7 and 6.4 Challengers are non-mds,and they still eat cams and lifters.
