Hello all. I have a 2016 ram 1500 with the 3.6L engine. I began having issued with the 3 way coolant valve approximately 2 years ago around 80,000 miles. Since then, I have replaced the same coolant valve multiple times with multiple vendor's parts with the problem always returning in a few months. The current codes that i have are

P2683 - Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Control Circuit High
P26a6 - Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Position Sensor Circuit Low.
P2681 - Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Control Circuit/Open

Since this is a reoccurring issue, it almost makes it appear to be an electrical issue (my favorite.....) I have traced the wires to a lower 10-pin connecter which seems to be fine. Connections all clean and pins straight and clean. I do not see any wire rubs either. Same thing goes for the wire harness that connects directly to the 3 way valve itself.

Does anyone else have any thoughts or input? I cant be the only one with this issue. Thanks in Advance!!

A short probably, maybe sporadic which can be hard to find. Did that engine have that valve in the TIPM circuit for 2016? TIPM's usually short like this, sporadic. PCM?

Did you try an OEM valve,as alot of aftermarket parts don't play nice with Chyrco electronics

f75 I believe?

I don't know how to bypass this item, I'm sure you can if you put your mind to it. What happens when tipm's fail is they go out slowly but eventually shorts out any item downstream, it is usually a solder joints in the TIPM behind fuse or breaker..
