Just got my first Ram truck about a month ago, it's a 2014. Need to bring it to my local dealership and they have a 3 week wait to get an appt. Is this normal for Ram dealerships?

What are you needing to get done at the dealership?

This is my first Ram, starting to think that myself. I assume you are joking?

What are you needing to get done at the dealership?
When I slow down and get to a stop, dropping into first gear, I can hear a thump... it's like a drop in the transmission or something.

I called a dealership that is farther from my house a few minutes ago and they can get me in this week, they just aren't sure they can drive me home. But that's ok, I'll take that.

It's kind of scary when a dealership says they have a 3-4 week wait, you start to wonder if you bought the wrong car / truck :)

Well I'm sure the dealership doesnt only sell/service Ram trucks.

You will see all types of different makes/models on the racks.

Also, if you're the original owner of the truck, you rate a rental car for warranty work. Or at least that's always been my experience with Ram.

If you're not the original owner, you rate a rental for any recall work.

Wow.......dealership must take a few times to get it right. No wait here, with either dealer.

Got a whole new transmission. Found the valve body to be faulty.

This is where FCA sucks donkey balls is their extend wait for warranty work. Then you will probably have to at least bring it in one more time after diagnosis as they will need to get approval for repair and order parts. For some weird reason though, non-warranty cash customers do not have these extend waits on average.

It's normal for some but not all. the dealer I tend to go to now is usually back logged 2-3 weeks. The others around aren't so back logged but also get crappy work and people that went to the others take it to this dealer to fix it right. even though it took them 3 trips to figure out the first mechanic stripped the bolts on my trans pan but they still aren't that bad.
I'm not sure on other dealers but my truck is past warranty now but my trans and engine work that was done is still covered for 2 years unlimited miles.
So sometimes the wait is worth it.

I just got my truck a month ago, it's a 2014, have a year left on the warranty. Is FCA worth it?

Worth is subjective and could not comment for you. Only issue I had was a minor one with a defective under hood blanket that took forever to get replaced and wasted two of my days off and six weeks to get fixed. Had it been a downing mechanical issue, I do not know how much I would put up with it.

Was your truck sitting at the dealership for 6 weeks?
