Truck is a 2026 1500 4x4 off road package with factory big horn wheels. I would eventually like to go with wider tires when it comes time to replace the originals.

The oem 275’s are only about 5/8 of an inch from rubbing the knuckle, so room is very limited. A piece of half inch plywood fits between the tire and knuckle with acceptable room imo, but I wouldnt really wanna go much closer than that.

Going by simple calculations, a 305 is right around 1.2” wider than a 275. Obviously all tires can very slightly give or take regardless of the advertised size, but by simple math a 305 is gonna move just over a half inch closer to the knuckle than a 275…getting very close to the knuckle, if not actually rubbing it.

I am just wondering if anybody has successfully cleared 305’s on these wheels WITHOUT using wheel spacers. Ive got nothing against spacers, have used them before with no issues. But I dont want to use spacers.

If you have been successful with this (or even if you havnt!), please post up any info you have (as well as what brand/style tire you used).

Thanks in advance!

These are the wheels I have.

Not much room between tire and knuckle!

I just installed K03s 305/70/18 on my Rebel, and had no issues. 5 miles later, I started the FOX 2.5 DSC upgrade.

Going for alignment on Friday

Nice! Update us with pics when done!

I see you have aftermarket control arms…did the 305’s fit with the factory control arms?

Also, im not sure of the width/offset of the rebel wheels compared to these big horn wheels. Im definitely curious if 305’s fit on my wheels without rubbing the oem control arm…WITHOUT wheel spacers.

Yes, I drove from the tire shop to home on a stock suspension, and I was able to slide my fingers in between the tire (305s) and the stock/plastic UCA.

I still have a rear shock to install. My garage is crowded with the XJ build and parts; thus, I have been doing this outside during a California heat wave and pollen alert. We are having summer temps 100°F~111°F .

This is how it look with OEM suspension with 305sView attachment 581812

|I say..315's will also fit. I bought 1/8" spacers, but didn't use them.
Gotchya. I wonder if your control arms are different than mine, and or wheel offset. There isnt even hardly a half inch of room between the tire and ball joint area on my all original stock truck.

And hey, white letters OUT for the win!

BFG doesn't make 305s with white letters.

I'm now finished.

The front lifted 2 inches. Installed at the desired PSI, the 305s are 34.0 inches tall.

You need to buy a new UCA for the lift; I got mine from Rough Country.

I dialed all four shocks to 5 and 5. IMO, it’s a bit harsh on the rears; I will turn them down to 4 and 4.

I'm no stranger to getting dirty; this was the first time I worked on this truck, and I found the job quite easy.

For the front, it took longer to remove the upper ball joint than to do the entire job.
For the rear, it took longer to remove the inner fenders than to swap the shocks.

Fox says you need two people; I did it solo.

I see you are in Michigan, but now I have the Rebel set up for your truck :favorites37:

This will lift the base RAM 1 inch.

Today I wheeled Valley of the Moon, and all worked great. The skid plates from RCI didn't hold; they look like a half moon.

Haaa, well i guess as long as they still protected what they were protecting. Skids should get banged up a bit, but shouldnt be turning into pretzels.

Truck looks awesome. Looking in to doing something similar to a 2026 Ram Rebel.

Any rubbing on the with the 305s/70R18 on oem wheels after the Fox 2.5 DSC 2in front lift?
