Finally pulled the trigger on my audio build for my truck. After getting together with my audio guy this is what we pulled together:

2- 10" Kicker Comp VX
Sub thump box
Kicker KX 1200.1
Kicker KX 400.4
Kicker KX 200.2
Kicker KS. 3.5
Alpine SPR-69
Kicker KQ30
JL Audio Clean Sweep

All the Kicker pcs have been ordered through Best Buys Kicker Accommodation program being as my brother works there. The Box, Clean sweep, and alpine will be ordered today. I will be posting process pics of the build as I'm getting parts!!

why 3 amps?

if it was me i would do the 4 channel with a nice set of components and run them active (2 channels for the mid-bass, 2 for the tweeters) run no rear speakers

a regular cab truck is so small that any rear speakers is not really needed. expecially with 2 subs. i have built many custom setups this way and at first customers would question it, but in the long run they were happier and it cost less to them.

Yes you are correct but the pricing I get with the best buy deal is so great I don't mind having the extra amp. I get both those amps brand new from kicker for less than the 400.4 would cost to the general public. I'm going to have the 200.2 for the dash speakers and the 400.4 for the door speakers. It's overkill I know but will work great with the set up

Just purchased A sub box from Fox acoustics. Anyone have any experience on lead time? Ordered mine last friday and still says processing

It took a couple weeks to get mine when i ordered form them. Great box but takes a while to get it.

it'll be a couple of weeks before it gets to you, also if you have subs that have oversized baskets on it you will have to modify the opening to accept the sub. The boxes are fairly musical nothing I would call amazing and at high volumes with subs that have decent xmax you will get chuffing in the ports.

This is so true, I have my 10' ported box and at medium volume I get HORRIBLE port noise. I hate it. I like the look of the box but sounds isn't the best. Maybe if the port was rounded over

Thats not what i wanted to hear but i happy you guys told me. I just recieved everything from kicker today and my speaker wires and blocks. Just waiting on the JL clean Sweep, Alpine Speakers and the box. I will post some pics when im out of work. Honestly i havent seen any other box that would fit my application and anything custom is almost double the price with no real assurance how its going to sound. Maybe the single cab config box will sound different who knows. I will be the test dummy i guess lol. Just waiting on the box is going to drive me nuts

I have the reg cab configured box that's how I know. You will have chuffing if xmax is similar to the kicker 12's.

I got the dual 10" box with the 10" comp VX. Its big bass so no im a bit concerned about the chuffling. You got a 12"? Because i searched their site and couldent find a 12" config for the regualar cab. Only reason i went 10"

No I was just looking up specs for those kicker VX subs, I had the 10in version of the box same as you ordered, Sorry for being confusing. Now the big thing is how kicker lists their xmax if it's one way you will have chuffing and if its peak to peak you maybe ok. I ran a sub that had 22mm of xmax one way in that box and man soon as volume went up to a level that I considered "loud" I could hear the chuffing behind my head.

Its all good, just wanted to make sure! Just looked it up Xmax for a 10" comp VX is 15.4mm so i should be good fingers crossed lol

Nice man I used to have a full kicker system. It was great. I've always been a fan of them. Until CT sounds it was the only brand I used

Just an Update. Fox Box has been shipped exactly 1 week from date of purchase as advertised. should receive by next Wednesday and should be installed by next weekend!
