Like the mustangs. That would be sweet.

I don't hate the tails you have, I was going to get them but somebody posted about these LED drop ins. Was going to try them out and if they sucked, sell them and get some aftermarket tails. Been happy so far but like I said I would'nt mine some OEM sport LEDs

When I decided to ditch the incandescents an go LED, I too wanted OEM's cuz I really favored them over aftermarket. But the price though :puke:

Diode Dynamics if you want LED replacement bulbs.
The HP48 are close to incandescent light out put.
The HP11 are slightly brighter.
The XP80 are super bright.

Pretty sure the ones in the OP are someone else's XP80s. They look like XP80s from Diode Dynamics, they're claimed to be 80 watts, and it seems that every manufacturer big and small has that design somewhere at the top of their product lines.

I suspect they're all (or most) made in more or less the same place and just branded and sold differently.

Yea. I hear you on that. I mean this with no sarcasm or ill will towards you. There are multiple bulbs claiming the same output from multiple "stores". All I can say is looks can be deceiving. The actual LED they use could all be different. Just look at the different number of LED off-road light bars out there. All look the same and all claim to be the same but fail early and often.
I am a fan of reputable dealers. I have only dealt with diode dynamics on 2 occasions and have had excellent service and products from them. Just throwing their product and name out there for more ideas to the OP to research.

I second this. My friend got some LEDs that are listed as x bright that he got from one place for a fraction of what I paid for mine. Despite the output being listed as similar there was a clear difference between them even during the daytime. So to a degree, you do get what you pay for

Ordered some bulbs for $14. Should be here in a couple days.

I'll report my findings on a good buy or a stay away lol.

As for tails...I'm leaning towards the spyders but not gonna take the plunge right now. But definetley a future mod for sure.

Oh, I wasn't casting any aspersions at Diode Dynamics. I've got a box of their stuff sitting on my coffee table, ready to be put into my '16 as soon as it gets here.

My point was just that XP80s are likely some standard concoction made by Cree and a few others and marketed by everybody. I'm sure at least one of the "others" put cheap crap in them and make them look the same, so it's good to have a reputable vendor. If they made it easy to spot the good ones, they couldn't charge as much. ^_^

So I ordered some JDM ASTARS 3157 led's....mind you, I still have my oem tail housings with some VHT over them.

The good:

They fill the housing with more light.

They come on immediately being led's. No slow delay in and out.

The not so good:

They give taillight out message (I personally am ok with this because I know they aren't out) also it's for the time being until I get bored and order new led's or Spyders.

They aren't but maybe a lil brighter than the oem incandescent bulbs.

So, overall I would not recommend these... But here's some pics....

I believe you are getting the code because you don't, unless you stated it, have an inline resistors and/or capacitor/decoder. The tails from Spyder or Venom have them built in so its just plug and play...

These are some but there are many more out there. I like the decoder ones, they look like a black box...
