Key wording state route 104 - which in english means NOT 70 mph, most likely 55-60. I can see it pulling that mpg under a 55mph no stop situation.

I don't see it. My wife had a Pentastar in a jeep grand cherokee years back and it got worse mileage than her 2 durangos with the 5.7 hemi. I think if you put the pentastar in a prius it still wouldn't get that kind of mileage.

It gets about 27-28 in the Pacifica @ 73 mph, so I can see it getting close on the level, no wind @55 with Ram. Steady state cruising. He might actually be driving closer to 45-50 mph?

I have hit 28 mpg at 45-50 mph on the level with no wind with my 5.7 - cruisin on 4 cylinders lol
