Has anyone put a 35x35x12.5 on their stock spare rim? I'd like to get a spare that is the same height as the tires I'm running.

My 35x12.5 18 wouldn’t fit so I ripped all the stuff off lol. It might fit aired down but I don’t wanna air down the tire. Other have fit 35” with airing them down.

Did the tire mount okay on the 17" steel spare rim?

I haven't mounted one on my spare yet. But I've 35s on my stock wheels, they haven't givin' any issues yet.

Hell if I know. It’s been since Aug and 7k. I don’t beat on my truck but it’s been off-road a good bit since and the spare seems to be holding strong.

Well I guess if the original spare you had hanging up there was a full size spare, you’ll probably be fine but I wouldn’t imagine those designers would’ve made a spare tire carrier any stronger to support anything heavier than that if one of them smaller donut spares is what you had hanging there before.

I guess if it breaks I’ll figure something else out. I’m not too concerned as they obviously weren’t concerned putting the 33inch duratrac up there. And I doubt the PW comes with a different spare carrier than every other Ram.

I’ve never seen a doughnut spare on a full size truck. They are made for hauling and towing so they all have full size spares.

Well, I guess I would suppose if you previously had a 33” full size spare hanging from there once before that you’d probably be fine with that big 35” but spare tire carriers aren’t created equally- at least not in looks or part number wise, anyways. Spare Carrier - Mopar (68230304AB) for Ram 1500...

...and-

Spare Carrier - Mopar (68303633AA) for Ram 2500.

Maybe you have nothing to worry about but I’ve just always wondered about what it would be like to drop a spare going down the road at highway speed if that cable were to ever break.
