I don't know the difference. Mine says Directed 5X10 on the brain but while trying to program mine via the PC software it keeps defaulting to the DB3 setting.A friend of min is looking to do the remote start , doug has listings for 4x10 and DB3 module. Doug contacted me yesterday. He informed me that he did have a stroke and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. He said that he was out of the hospital not but still recovering. He wanted to make sure that I didn't think he was avoiding me. I wished him a speedy recovery and we are currently working on a resolution to my issues.First post but I felt I should add my $.02. I to purchased the remote start from Doug on eBay. Received it on 12/3/17 and tried to install it a couple of days later. Ran into a problem with programming the second fob. The led on the box would only flash red after following the instructions. I emailed Doug on 12/6, again on 12/8 and then on 12/16. He responded on 12/16 and said he had been in the hospital since 12/5 after suffering a stroke. He indicated that he had limited capabilities. I told him I could wait until he was feeling up to it and to contact me the. I have yet to hear back from him. Not sure of his condition at this time. Has anyone heard from him after 12/16/17?
The one I have is plug and play for my 2014 RAM 1500. The "T" harness connects to the factory connections leaving two single wires that "can" be hooked up. One is for the park lights which is not required but suggested. The other wire is to simulate a door being opened to trigger the radio to shut off when the remote start times out. That one is optional. I did not connect either of these during my test install. I can't get past the "Key2go flashing", the DB3 module flashes red x3 after removing the second key. Still have to figure that out with EBay Doug's help when he is up to it.is this plug and play for 2014 ram? it says plug and play but directions says it needs to tap into door trigger wire and Optional parking light wire? . I got the key2go key generated but when I plugged it back into truck I didn't have green led. I was getting red flashing x6, which led me to door trigger wire.

Thanks for the update on Doug. Glad to hear he is still with us.Doug contacted me yesterday. He informed me that he did have a stroke and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. I have the 5x10 module which I'm guessing is similar to yours. I was having issues with the 3 red lights flashing as well. What we did is go onto the directechs.com website and flash my module to a 2012 Honda Accord, then after confirming that it set it up for an Accord, we reflashed it to my truck again. I then plugged it in to my truck and the light came on the module solid red. I inserted my key fob in the ignition, turned it on and the module slowly flashed an orange light. Took the unit back to the computer and a Generate Key option came up and I clicked Yes. It then programmed for a couple minutes and said success. I then went back to my truck, plugged it in and a solid green light game on the module for a few seconds. I clicked the lock button on my fob 3X and it started up.The one I have is plug and play for my 2014 RAM 1500. Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try. I was given a password to the website, for the downloads originally but it expired 12/11 so I didn't even try to re-flash the unit.I have the 5x10 module which I'm guessing is similar to yours. Hope this helps.
anyone one have the 4x10 installed? Does it plug into the OBDII port? I have a Tuner plugged in amd was wonderingly how I can do both if it is occupying the OBDII port.

I got the 4x10 installed. Wondering if anyone else that has it has the issue where 99% of the time it does not work the first time. Meaning, instead of 3x remote start it is 6x remote start?

seems not to matter, I've tried many ways. Doug says it should be done within 4 seconds. You might be pushing the button too quickly..... I know that's a common problem people have with this setup.
