I talked with several dealerships and FWD Performance that deals almost just with mopar, and the dealerships said they could do the 4.10 swap, but the computer would basically would not recognize the gears and make the truck limp. FWD Performance said maybe, but it dosen't make sense to them.
I know some of you guys have put 4.56 gears in and I haven't heard of any problems.
Wanted to know what you guys thought.
Thanks

You can get a programmer and set the computer to the gears you are running.

Also I had 4:10. Never heard of limp mode. I think they don't know what they are talking about

The dealership should be able to make it work, there isn't a tuner yet for you to calibrate it yourself.

You wont need any tuner for gear changes. Only for tire size adjustments.

Haha limp mode from a gear change... ******* GENIUS'S down there! Go back to your dealership and tell them they're retarded.

Talked with Spring Dodge and they said they just do some mod that allows it to work without a tuner. So 4.10 here I come.

Not sure if this is relavent but perhaps the Dealership is not Crazy just a bit Mixed up as Actually on the HEMI LX Cars if you swap gears (like I'm gonna do Soon) and don't have a Tuner to adjust them (SC or Diablo) the CAR will go into Limpe mode as soon as you try and drive it as it uses Halfshafts with Toner rings on the outside where the Hub Goes and in my case the factory gear is 2.82 so going to 3.06 will cause the problem (can't remember exactly why PCM? but it is well known in the LX Car world).

Getting the 4.10's installed tomorrow. They are waiting on 2 parts that are coming in from Dallas. Said I should have the truck back the same day. Will keep you guys posted. Also need to take pics to post on here, feel naked with everyone having their trucks on display. Also, when my JBA's come in I plan on doing a Step by Step D.I.Y. with pics and posting it if you guys are intrested. Maybe make it a sticky.

Got the 4.10 installed and got my truck back today. On the invoice, it says that they programmed the TIMP to new gear ratio. Does anyone know what TIMP is?
Also, if anyone is thinking of doing this and not taking it to a dealership, the invoice has the parts numbers that you will need. Just send me a message and ill post them.

$1400 and change. Parts were 600 and change, and they charged 6.5 hours labor at 115 an hour.
Cant wait till my goodman TB and Jba shorties come in. That stuff I can do myself. I still dont know If the TB will make the engine run lean. I might just put the 180 thermostat in just to be on the safe side. Anyone using a specific brand thermostat for the 11-12's?

The tipm is the totally integrated power module. Not sure why they'd need to calibrate that? Maybe so it knows they're different sized gears? But didn't think that mattered intense trucks unless it's for traction control.

Thanks for the explanation. With no tuner out for these trucks yet, and other performance parts except the very basic, its almost no incentive to learn about the parts that make it tick till they break down.
