wasnt sure where to post this but im getting ready to get gears for my truck. debating on which set to go with, 4.10's or the 4.56's. what are your thougts? i dont plan on running any "huge" tires. i currently have 33's, possibly 35's in the future but nothing bigger than that.

I vote 4.56s. I ran them with 34" tires and I always wanted moar gear.

4.56's would make the 4.7 scream. No regrets here and I can still Peg 140 KPH on the Highway if I'm in a hurry with RPM's just under 3K (87 MPH). And being only 30 K over the speed Limit (18.6 MPH) the Cops won't take my Truck away on the spot, mind you I only due that if someone is giving Birth!

I agree, 4:10s if a lot of highway driving otherwise do 4:56s and hang on for the ride.

Use this to get an idea on your RPM per tire size.

mph x gear ratio x 336
__________________ x gear ratio trans
Tire diameter

There was a nice improvement going from 3.55's to 4.10's but regret it and should of just went to 4.56's.

I eventually went to 4.56's after running 4.88's for 2 years. Miss the 4.88's but the 4.56's is a great medium for my setup.

If you have 3.92's you won't notice much of a difference going to 4.10's. If you have 3.55's then 4.10's will be good.

I dont know any 4.7 owners that arent happy with 4.56's. Just try to keep your highway rpms under about 2200, and you will be fine on mileage.

thanks for all the replies guys! 99% of my driving is under or right around 60. dont do much interstate driving. im leaning towards the 4.56's but was just curious what others thought. i have never changed gears in a vehicle, this is my first vehicle that i've owned and actually modded. im quite impressed with what a cai, sc tuner, and exhaust setup have done for power, i can only imagine what difference the gears will make.

im running the same size tires. i feel like i read somewhere when you switch from 3.55's to 4.56's you get an increase of around 300 rpm? someone correct me if im wrong...

yeah ive got the stock 3.55 right now. and if its only an increase of around 300rpm then i can handle that. i just dont want to make the mistake of gettin 4.10 and regrettin it later wishin i got 4.56. at the sametime i want to be able to drive on the interstate and not rev in excess of 3500rpm just doin the speed limit

now my question for the people that have knowledge in this. i know i would rev higher than the chart(i have an automatic 4x4). just worried 4.56 would be a lil high with 33's runnin on the interstate. anyone with first hand experience with runnin this set up?
