View attachment 525665Pretty awesome how reliable these engines are when people crap on them all the time. Thought I’d make a post about my mileage for the heck of it. 292,309 on a 2012 4.7 1500.
It always the valve seals they dry up on the 4.7'sI have an 09 with 193k, only issue is a little smoke at startup that may be the valve guides. Would have been a great engine in front of the 8 speed
I may just let it ride and order a long block at some point. My 2010 4.7 is just 195,000 miles. Running strong. Wish it had an 8 speed, but other than that no complaints with the engine and drivetrain.
I did the valve stem seals and springs in April. Way big job. If I had todo it again I might pull the heads instead of doing it in the truck.
I agree. the 4.7 Powertech was one of the best engines ever made. They unfortunately were susceptible to head warping if over heated. I had one in a Dakota and it was super smooth and quiet until I sold it at 148,000 miles. Lot's of low-end torque.View attachment 525665Pretty awesome how reliable these engines are when people crap on them all the time.
