I have one with a dip stick as well. Add W1
Quite similar to the one you got, just all black.
Funny enough - I installed it at the air box as well.

The amazon one the Op used comes with fittings for either 3/8" or 1/2" hose. The only thing you'll need to get is a 1/2" barbed union to connect to the throttle body hose. I installed the same one on Monday.

I could but they'll look just like the ones on page 1. ;)

Air from the pcv valve goes in, whatever oil, water, fuel, etc that's in said air falls to the bottom of the can, you pull bottom of can off and dump out said liquid. I'm not sure how a $150 catch can could be any different than a $40 one. All aluminum construction with O-rings on any threaded piece for tight seals.

I actually inserted the 3/8"' hose in the stock elbows 2 months ago and have had no issues. I did buy new 3/8" hose since what they provided was not enough and it looked more like something I would install under my kitchen sink!

Silly question.

Any difference between the 17 and 18 1500 5.7 on the catch can mounting for the z plate?

Some kits don't list 18 MY. I can't see any difference... Just want to make sure

so, 3/8 will work on but 1/2 will fit better? I plan on on getting braided lines, just wanna make sure which size is best

Not necessarily, what yortnodnarb said about the 1/2" line and barbed union above is how you would normally install it.

You can go to page 2 on this thread and I did a writeup with pictures using a 3/8" hose inserted in the oem rubber elbows that connect to the pcv and throttle body.

My only concern with how I did it was those lines popping out of the elbows. They fit in very snug and I had used a little oil to insert them. It has been almost 2 months now and the lines have not budged, so it is safe to say the way I did it is fine.

so 1/2 would work best?

Yes, 1/2" barbs (2 total) and extra 1/2" line should do it! How much line you need depends on where you decide (or can find) to mount it. Myself and another member needed 5' of hose based on our mounting locations.

I would recommend ordering it first, find the mounting location and then go get the line you need.

Only 1 union is really needed, the 1/2" hose will fit over the plastic nipple on the pcv valve. But if you leave the rubber boot on the pcv, then yes you'll need 2 unions.

I have 2 of these catch cans, for the $ I think they are one of the best, well made and look good. They are Chinese made and about 20 places just put brands on them, but all are same. I added to mine some stainless steel scrubber stuff in mine. Good can though and price is right.

I have the same one, beats spending 150$ on a name brand one when it does the exact same thing.

I see a few people referring to adding stainless steel scrubber material, etc as a filter.

Does anyone worry about the filter material getting into the intake stream and becoming an issue inside the engine?

Would something like a brass soldering iron "sponge" be a better idea? Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Soldering-Iron-Tip-Cleaner-Black/dp/B00J66FSY2

It's engraved right on the can which port is in and out, not sure mine even had instructions, seems pretty straight forward.

I finally got around to installing my $25 can and can't believe how much oil it caught in 2 days( about 100 miles total driving mostly freeway. I used 1/2 inch fuel hose and brass connectors. Here is a picture. Is this normal? LoL
