Hello, i have a 2002 dodge ram 1500. 5.9l v8 and a 46re transmission. issue is this,
no reverse....
all forward gears work great, however reverse does nothing.
i have removed the pan and adjusted the bands correctly, 8nm and 2 turns back on both bands. reverse came back to life, put new filter and new fluid in it, then about a block away while driving the rear wheels locked up. reverse blew out again, truck still moves forward fine but reverse is completely gone. any ideas? I dont want to have to remove it but it would be great if someone else had some insight on these trannys. Oh and the kicker, 290,000km on the trans. worth re build/fix? new engine in the truck 70k ago. runs great, no rust decent interior and tight front end.
been reading up on the tranny and they are pretty simple, i just only have the one truck right now and need it back on the road asap!!
