Hello, i have recently bought a 1999 2500 hd with a v10 and a 47re tranny, the transmission needs to be rebuilt, is it best to buy the kit then tear the transmission down or the other way around. i plan to buy an atsg manual, i am wondering what kind of updates or upgrades can be done to it to make it last as it will be pulling a 10,000 lb load regularly but will not be a daily driver. This will be my first transmission rebuild but have rebuilt motors, rear ends and transfer cases before. can anyone recommend a kit that has all the usual wear parts ?? Also i looked in the owners manual and it said max trailer weight is 13,*** lbs with the v10 and 2500 is this correct ?? Thanks for any help in advance.
