I'm posting my experience trying to purchase the OE Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (ITBC) for my 2018 Laramie 1500. The OE kit is P/N 82215040AC for the 2016-2019 (DS) trucks.

AllMoparParts showed a back order when I tried to order through them. I tried another dealer that did not have any note about not-in-stock, and they held my money for several days with no notice that they were in back order, until I contacted them - then they cancelled the order and refunded me. Then I ordered from eBay with a third dealer who showed 5 in stock, but they just hadn't been updating their site, and they cancelled/refunded/apologized in under 24 hours.

What to do ? I haven't been towing much, but I need to now, and I need brakes ! It wasn't clear to me I needed to install an ITBC in my truck until post purchase, and then I delayed doing it.

I called my selling dealer's parts department and asked if they had a kit in stock - parts desk checked and said "sorry, no". Then I asked about individual parts: the Switch (P/N 68105206AC) and the Module (P/N 68092732AE). He checked, and they had both the Switch and the Module on hand ! I asked about the bracket, and his response was that they don't stock that, because it takes too much time to install and costs extra - they zip tie the controller in place with no issues !

Thought I would post the P/N's in case anyone else has my problem and can't wait 8 to 12 weeks.

I had one installed last July. I had dodge order the integrated brake controller and the module was already in place on my 16 ram big horn. It was 435 installed. But looks so clean and not tacky under the dash like the aftermarket ones do!

Follow up post - my truck now has OE Integrated Trailer Brake Control (ITBC) !

I easily found the taped-over harness connectors at far right in front of driver's knee. Mounting the ITBC Module was very easy and secure - two large zip ties anchor it to the dash frame. I installed it with high density urethane foam against the frame, between Module & vent, and between Module & dash to prevent noise and prevent any electrical contact.

I finished install in about hours. My truck has a console, with a little extra work.

Beware some AlfaOBD language / acronym changes for the 2016-17 BCM versus posts on the earlier trucks. You'll need to search under vehicle configuration: Three "custom settings - trailer . . . ." AND One "P/T Integerated Trailer Brake . . . . " Four things to change in all.

THANKS to everyone who has posted on AlfaOBD and the ITBC installations.
