4th gen ram hemi avoid?

I have been looking for a newer truck (4th gen). I currently drive an 03 hemi and want another hemi. However I have read an alarming number of posts about lifter and cam shaft failures on the mds motors. Just how prolific is this problem? My third gen hemi has ticked for the 93k miles I have owned it and it has never failed but from what I've read the tick on the mds motors likely means lifter failure.

I have 200000 miles on mine with no problems I changed the oil every 5000 miles with mobile one synthetic.

It's luck of the draw with cars and trucks most of the time I have a 2012 4.7 V8 flex fuel 1500 bought it brand new in2012. Fabulous truck haven't any problems have 105,000 miles been using E-85 most here the last 6 moths or so. Been using regular 87 until recently.

Every vehicle has its own problem. Yep, some hemi engines have lifter/cam problems. My son had a 2014 Silverado that ate a cam at 54,000 miles. My neighbor has a 2017 ecoboost lock up at 44,000 miles.
So, you just never know. With all the crap and technology in todays engines, I bought an extended warranty for my 2019 classic. I NEVER bought a warranty before. With the mds, variable valve timing, computers everywhere, I felt it was time to buy the insurance. At 100,000 miles I plan to dump it and start again. For $50,000 you’d think you wouldn’t have to worry. Ugh
