2004 5.7 2wd 1500 prepped and ready for this massive undertaking. Only piece of the puzzle left is a Damn t case. Will any np241 dodge case bolt up? Or will I need one out of a third gen? haven't got a solid answer on this for months since I started fabbing the new suspension and everything else. I will put a well documented post with pics on this build in the near future. Thanks guys! And please dont ask me why I just didn't buy a 2500 4wd hahaha the reward of building your truck ground up the way you want it is worth every penny and headache.

I'd go with a Twin Stick Atlas 2 instead.

There is something badass about being in Front Drive Low and rear Neutral.

I have been throwing this option around too, and yes it would be badass. Im just way over budget going way overboard on the axle rebuilds.

Get an np271 t case from any hemi 2500/3500
Much stronger
I think 48re use a larger output haft so it would have to be from a hemi truck

My buddy has a twin stick in his Cherokee, the thing makes local wheelin boring

It was to my knowledge that a 271 wouldn't fit between the frame rails on a 1500, I could definitely be wrong though. Thanks for the info on the output shaft on the hemi 545rfe trans, pretty much answers my question.

I actually hadn't thought of that but I could have sworn that I've seen them swapped before
