Hey folks, I have an '05 1500 SLT QC 5.7
I bumped my transfer shifter the other day and thought it felt...."loose". So, as I grabbed it with my hand, it is, in fact just flopping there. Fortunately it is in 2wd. My question is this, before I get under there, I want to know what I'm looking for. I know that before GM went to the "push button" 4x4 systems, their floor shifters were just there to make an electronic connection to a switch that actually engaged the transfer case. So, does mine have linkage to engage the transfer, or is it the same type that only activates a switch to engage the transfer case?? Thanks!!

It is the shift lever bushing. You can find then at auto parts store the Dorman number 14078. There are two.
