Ok, so I have 98 1500 4x4 with a 5.9 and auto trans. Runs great but is really rusty. I also have a 99 1500 4x4 with a 5.2 and 5 speed manual in very nice shape. It also runs great. I am thinking of swapping the motors around to have the 5.9 and 5 speed. Thinking the only major thing I will need is a flywheel for the 5.9. Anything else needed? Is the there enough power difference to make the swap worth the time?
Thanks in advance!

The 5,9 has a bit more horsepower and torque. But they also suck back a lot more fuel.

I think you'd be better off buying a tuner, the power difference will be nominal at best.

There really isn’t much of a power difference it will change because of the difference in the way power is transferred between the manual and auto trans but if you put a little bit of money into the 5.9 before you drop it in you can make some decent power for cheap. Hughes has a lot of good info about building the magnum engines.
