I had a rodent domicile under my plastic engine cover.

They ate some of the insulation on the breather hose and the oil filler neck insulation.
Do I need to keep the oil filler neck insulation ? What is it’s practical purpose?

Thankfully the little guys didn’t eat my harnesses.

Pretty sure your engine will blow up with out that. You better get a new one ASAP.

If I replace the engine cover it might save the plastic filler neck from melting ?

I’m assuming you’ll accept all responsibility

Don’t have any on my truck and I have LT headers. Hotter than stock. Surprisingly hasn’t blown up yet or melted any plastic in the engine bay or the hood insulator. Don’t know why they designed the truck’s engine bay this way with a bunch of material that will
Burn or blow under the hood once she’s cranked!
