Hey guys/gals... Just got back in a truck after being in the Jeep scene for a while... I bought a 14 Power Wagon... So here is my question for you guys with the 6.4 HEMI... I noticed that there is a high pitched chirp coming from the engine when the engine is under load (similar to the chirping a water pump makes when it is going bad)... It doesn't do it if the truck is just idling... It only does it when on the gas... I took it back to the dealer and they admit they hear the noise but they state it is just the characteristic of the engine... They had another 2500 with the 6.4 on the lot and I went and tried to replicate it on that truck but did not hear it... Anyone else experience this? I appreciate your feedback... Thanks...

Welcome! Intake leak (very small)? My first guess. Trans line vibrating super fast against something? Aftermarket intake installed? My S and B makes a little noise like that right before it shifts. Dipstick touching something? Just a few thoughts. Good luck, Sir.

Some of us have a "chirp" when the engine is cold. Sounds like a squeaking belt but it is coming from somewhere else. Mine sounds like it is coming from the exhaust on the driver's side up near the engine. No reports of a fix yet and I don't know if this is the same thing you are experiencing or not.

Come to think of it mine has a little chirp, sort of reminds me of a faint pulley bearing squeal, but slower. Goes away after a bit though. Probably never find it til whatever it is, fails.
