I've asked about this before and a few people have said they have the same problem, but no one has ever said anything about how to resolve it. My 8.4 Alpine system in my 2016 Ecodiesel pauses randomly when using an SD Card, USB Drive, or Bluetooth from my phone. It does it whenever it feels like it and seems to be doing it more and more. I've done the resets on the radio, and it is up to date on updates. Has anyone figured out how to resolve this? I really don't want to spend the money for a new stereo, but this random pausing is unacceptable

I've had that happen a couple of times, I think even the Blutooth does it also but...
I just bounce around between XM, Blutooth and USB and never let it bother me too much.
XM will drop out around intersections with traffic lights (Alot of that in So. Fla)
But... yeah, I've not heard anything on this forum about the usb pausing.

Not sure if applicable, but in Aviation, using a high capacity SD card on Garmin products can cause hiccups or even not work. What size is your SD card? Just like a hard drive, more memory to scan. Take for what it’s worth. Maybe try a lower GB card and see if it happens.

It's a 32 gig card. I seriously doubt that's the problem though. The USB stick is smaller and it does it too. It also happens when using my phone on Bluetooth. My Challenger had the same head unit and I used the same card and stick It never paused like this one does I guess I'm going to have to call the dealership and see what they say about replacing it

It kinda stopped doing it for a little bit. Now it's back in full force. I didn't change anything

Just bought a 2015, 1500 and it does the same type of deal? It's as though someone presses pause for a split second. I have also noticed that the music is still playing while this happens, meaning it itself doesn't stop, just the actual noise from the speaker.

Sound about the same?
