Has anybody or does anybody know of any info about changing out a 5.0 screen to a 8.4 screen?

Last I knew you could not add the 8.4 don't remember what the reasons behind it other than the 8.4 controls the Evic features

You would likely have to get your BCM flashed to support the 8.4AN. This would require your dealership emailing Chrysler engineering and getting them to add support for the 8.4AN to your VIN and removing the BCM. Then they would just swap the radio, which should be plug and play. After that, they would flash your BCM.

I would think a dealer could do it also by changing the sales code and re-flashing it. if they know how to change it.

I remember jj (0212353) posting an email or statement put out by dodge that said changing of factory radios wouldn't be supported

That's what I was saying. But your dealer only had permission to change a limited set of sales codes. The rest have to be changed by Chrysler.
