Last week I got in the truck and it would only blow hot air. Later that day it worked just fine.

Past 4 days I get in, start it up and hear a rapid clicking from behind the center console. Cold air comes from the vents but barely blows, initially. After driving a few minutes the blower is going full speed.

Trying to figure out if the issues are a coincidence or related. I live in Texas so A/C is damn near necessary. Don’t know why the clicking happens on start up but air starts to blow later with no noise from the dash at all.

Please help.

My ‘18 clicks too right when I start the truck. I’ve seen a few different people describe something similar on here and other forums. It’s either the blender door that swings to adjust the temperature and/or location of vents being utilized is rubbing bc it’s a little too big, or it’s the actuator motor gears grinding while moving the blender doors. I think it’s the door being too big personally, bc I’ve had a blender door actuator go out on a previous vehicle at around 135k. My truck has just over 12k and I’m pretty sure there’s no way the actuator is already on its last legs. I’ve also seen where someone said it’s just the actuator calibrating which doesn’t make any sense bc there’s no need to rub against something enough to make it click just to calibrate.

Took mine in for AC cooling issues and they ended up evacuating the system and measured the R1234 refrigerant was low. The symptom was, cooled just fine at highway speeds, but sitting still or at slow speeds the temp in the cab climbed pretty quick. Almost room temp air blowing out of vents.
