The 1234yf is a PITA when it comes to evacuating and refilling. You shouldn't have to add any oil as long as you aren't replacing any components. This stuff is expensive and it takes a special machine to evacuate and charge the system. I reccomend you find a shop that is capable of working on the system and have them evacuate it and leak test it. This way you will only be paying for whatever your system has already leaked out plus labor when you re fill it. The machine will not charge the system if it detects a leak. I know the mechanic that did mine and actually helped him figure out how the machine worked because they had just got it. The system only holds 1.25lbs but it's crazy expensive.

They have a tool so you can take out the schrader valves and replace them without evacing the system. i also had a leak detector on it so i know where its coming from. but i do thank you for the info on the lbs that go into it. your right it's stupid expensive

Oh that's good to know. I didn't know you could replace them without evacuating the system. The machine I used made us convert it to metric. We were still learning how to use it but the machine made us completely evacuate the system before it would refill it. We couldn't just top it off like you can with the R134. That being said there might be a way to do it but we couldn't figure it out.
