I have a 2004 QC 1500 2wd.
Im due for some new tires and i think i want to go with a more aggressive offroad type tire.
I use the truck to haul my 4 wheeler and can get into some muddy areas from time to time.
So with having a 2wd i need every advantage i can get.
So my questions are this..
What would be a good long wear tire and what is the largest size i can fit?
It sits at the stock height right now.
I would look into raising the front with spacers if i need to .
Any help would be awsome thanks!

I've always like BFG All-terrain's. That was my first aggressive type tire on my jeep wrangler before I went to Good year MTR's. I can't help you with size, but BFG makes a good tire, it is just $$$.

On stock height I wouldnt go more than 285s. What size rims do you have? Looks like 20s in the pic. Not sure on exact size for those, but I know at stock height with my 17s, 285s would be max. 315s with a front level. I like the looks of hankook dynapro mts, my brother liked them on his old chevy, not sure if they come in 20s. But I remember them being a bit less pricey compared to other aggressive treads.

Yes the are the stock 20" wheels.
I run Hancook tires on my f550 work truck but on the rears only good tires so far.

what type of look are you going for? the more aggressive you go the faster they will wear. Do you care about road noise? The dynapro ATM are good there also is a less expensive choices Multi-Mile Wild Country XTX Sport and the Muteki Trail Hog. Let us know what you go with and how they work for you.

Or i could go with a 2.5 or 3" level kit.?
So i think im going to be looking at 33 " tires.
I would love to go 35 but im trying to do this the most cost effective way i can.

You would be how surprised at how loud a set of offroad tires can be! I used to be able to tell I needed to rotate my tires from the sound over my super 44 exhaust on my jeep.

BFG AT's last surprisingly long for a more aggressive tread, and do great in snow. All terrains are not the best for ice, if you have to worry about that.

Sounds like you use your truck to haul and go a little off road before you decide to start going to a taller tire think about the problems you will encounter and come up with a logical plan for upgrading. Since your 2wd you don't have the luxury of 4lo with tall tires. any increase in tire size will make your off road excursions a possible nightmare. If your wanting a cute mall crawler go as big as you want lol. Tall tires= less in town fuel economy a dog when hauling a load higher trans temperatures your brakes will wear faster and be less effective. If your on a budget taller tires will kill you sooner than later. More money for fuel under powered truck poor off road performance faster wear on front sealed hubs ball joints tie rods. Cheapest tires are 285 70 17 larger cost more up to 100 per tire. level kit, gears, just to keep your current performance.

You might be better served by keeping your current tires and getting a winch. You will be able to pull yourself out of anything you can get into, and you can keep with street tires. You my need a bumper with a winch mount, so it will get pricy, but in the long term cheaper that wasting aggressive tires on the street.

Aggressive tires SUCK in rain. Especially at the higher speeds like on Texas highways.

Check out warn PN 63670. It seems to be a war in winch mount that works with the factory bumper. The most aggressive tires will not make up for 2wd, but a winch will.
