question, I have an old set of leaf springs off a 70 charger that are in very good condition, if they are the same width and the pin holes match up, could I use them as donors for an add a leaf?
thank you

The magic answer is . . . Depends . . . Rule of thumb on adding a leaf.

If the leaf added is the same size and has the same arch (at rest) as the main pack, you should gain a little height and load capacity.

If the leaf has less arch, it probably will not add height and will do little for load capacity.

If the leaf has more arch, it will add height, some load capacity, and probably be the first one to break when heavily loaded.

That said, your 50 year old donor probably won't have the proper arch to help you, but a little time with a tape measure will tell you for sure.
