Okay guys im having problems with my abs and brake coming on in my truck. I have a 95 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9L 360 with the automatic trans. Im not sure what could be causing this but ive replaced the rear wheel speed sensor thinking that could cause the abs light to come on and that wasn't it. For the most part the light always comes on after a couple seconds of running and im still driving it the way it is. The brake fluid is full and nothing leaking anywhere. As far as i know it doesnt have anti-lock breaks but if it does its never worked out of the 6 years of owning it. When the light doesnt come on right away and while pressing on the brake pedal while moving it feels like the pedal is pulsating. Im out of ideas to what to check next or replace on it can anyone please help out.

I had the same problem awhile ago. Take it to a shop to have them scan it and tell you EXACTLY where it's coming from, mine was the front left ABS sensor. Easy replacement and cost me about $60 for the part.

It probably doesn't seem like you have anti lock brakes because most trucks only came with them in the rear. 4 wheel abs is rare on these trucks and a pita.

I know my tuck doesnt have abs sensors in the front wheels, with it being a 95 OBD1 computer it only has a speed sensor in the rear axle witch i already replaced and with it being a OBD1 computer im not sure if it can be scanned for abs/brake lights. Ijust had the truck in the garage a couple months ago with the brake light on to get a engine problem fixed and when he scanned the computer for the CEL nothing showed including no abs/brake codes. I know it also doesnt have 4 wheel anti-lock brakes i dont even think it has the rear anti-lock brakes because there's no modulator. Thank you rowdyram for that link ill do some digging on there and see what it could be.

I had the same problem , i replaced the speed sensor as well but did not fix it . if it is your speed sensor your speedometer won't work either . i hooked up a scanner from ebay and goy a 1709 code ores something like that when i looked it up it was to do with the covenor sensor in the trans . it is a $40 part . I was planniong to pop the trans cover this spring and replace the parts , they are easy access and there are lots of vids on youtube . I aslo planned to change the trans filter and gasket as well while I am in there .
I have noticed that the light comes on less and less though as i drive the truck , ( the previous owner did not put many miles on it ) in fact it had been off for some time and only recently with the cold weather started to come on again .
hoe that helps
